HEAVY DUTY NON-SKID SAFETY COATING

Specialty Coatings 197-9021

$32.25

A solvent based, slip resistant coating formulated for heavy duty applications found in factories, warehouses, service stations, schools and many other areas. This coarse textured product reduces the hazards of slippery areas especially when those areas become wet. The resin system is enhanced for added resistance to water, abrasion, and chemicals beyond moderate duty non-slip coatings. For use on interior wood, concrete and metal found on steps, walkways, ramps, shower room floors, catwalks and many other surfaces.

SURFACE PREPARATION

All surfaces to be painted must be clean, dry and free from dirt, grease, wax, oil, rust, mildew, efflorescence, chalk, soap residue, loose paint and any other foreign matter. New concrete or masonry surfaces should age at least 30 days before being painted. Spalling or powdery concrete must be repaired to a sound surface before painting. Concrete that is smooth troweled or suspected of treatment with chemical “de-icers” should be etched with dilute muriatic acid and rinsed thoroughly with clean water before painting to promote bonding. This coating may be applied directly to properly prepared bare metal. For additional corrosion resistance, a rust inhibitive metal primer should be used. Glossy surfaces should be scuff sanded to promote the maximum adhesion of this product.

 METHOD OF APPLICATION

Stir thoroughly and apply without thinning by brush, roller or spray at an average spreading rate of 100 square feet per gallon. Square foot averages may vary depending upon surface texture and porosity. Typically, this product can be recoated in 12-16 hours and is dry to walk on in 24 hours under good conditions. Cool temperatures, high humidity, heavy film thicknesses, or poor ventilation will extend drying times. Do not apply if air or surface temperature will be below 50° F within 24 hours of application. Clean up equipment immediately after use with All Purpose Thinner #8999 and dry for storage.
